More than half of 2015 is gone, and I felt I should write something. This year, I feel I’ve improved a lot technically. From improving apps to independently developing an app [hybrid], then exploring new tech and independently owning the platform architecture, I took many detours and hit many walls. But after going through it, I truly learned a lot. The more deeply and broadly I learn, the more I realize I’m still a beginner. It’s a frustrating feeling, but it’s also true across all industries.
This kind of stubborn effort kept me in a high‑pressure, high‑intensity coding state in the first half of the year. Only today do I feel my abilities truly improved—like the naive hero in The Legend of the Condor Heroes finally learning a few moves. Effort pays off; that saying really is true.
Of course, the barriers I ran into taught me lessons. Youth gives us drive and energy but also inexperience and narrow thinking. That hurt me when doing big or new projects, but it also became a proving ground that helped me grow quickly.
In short, the road is long and I need to keep pushing. If you think too much and can’t figure it out, stop thinking for now and focus on doing the work at hand.
Here’s a quote I love as a mid‑year encouragement:
Technology and tools are always just means to realize ideas. Tools can be replaced by better tools, but thinking itself needs constant renewal and improvement.
