Previously, my blog’s static pages and blog management platform were hosted on a Bandwagon Host VPS abroad, and the access speed was very slow, especially for the backend management platform, where operations had noticeable delays. This time, I decided to migrate the services to a domestic server on Tencent Cloud.
Since the entire project hasn’t been Dockerized yet, the environment had to be reconfigured from scratch, which took about an hour [Nginx, Node, SSL, etc.], and I couldn’t help but feel the inconvenience of not having Docker. . . . Next time, I must figure it out.
After more than an hour of effort, the service was finally successfully migrated to China. I tried accessing it from my phone and computer, and the speed improved significantly.
Because I had just deployed it, I used ~~ https://www.17ce.com/ ~~ for website speed testing, but the test unexpectedly indicated that my IP was from the UK. That was frustrating—I clearly bought a Tencent Cloud server in the Chengdu region. Several testing tools showed the same result. However, the access speed was indeed very fast, which was not scientific. So I had to contact customer service via a work order, and the answer I got was that the IP data of the testing tool I used was not up-to-date. They recommended a tool, which I’m sharing here. If you need to query a site’s IP, use this: https://www.ipip.net/ip.html

Final Thoughts
If your web service’s main audience is in China, it is recommended to host it domestically. Foreign VPS is indeed cheap, but the access speed is still slow.
