Cloudflare has become one of the tools I use heavily. Its free tier already includes a lot, and it is powerful enough for many use cases. I have been using it for a while, so here are some Cloudflare tips for reference.
Services Need Redeployment After Environment Variables Change
Take Cloudflare Pages environment variables as an example. After updating an environment variable, the service needs to be redeployed before the change takes effect. Cloudflare currently does not seem to show a reminder for this, so you need to manually trigger a redeploy yourself.
R2
R2 is Cloudflare’s object storage service. The free traffic allowance is already generous, and it comes with global acceleration. My blog images are currently stored on R2, and access speed has been very good. I also do not need to worry much about bandwidth. Even if paid usage becomes necessary, the pricing is still very cheap.
